Great job everyone!

Dear Colleagues:
This has been truly one phenomenal summer. We admitted, oriented and registered more students than at any other time in the College’s history. We could not have done this remarkable work without the employees on the Enrollment Services Team: Recruitment & Admissions, Testing, International Student Admission & Advising, Enrollment & Registration Services, Advising, Counseling & Retention Services, the Office of Learning Support and all of the employees in Student Financial Services: Financial Aid including the Outreach Unit and Student Accounts.
The Enrollment Services Team and the Student Financial Services Team have worked side by side tirelessly all summer into the evenings and on the weekends. Our Open Houses, Orientations and Extreme GPC events were huge successes drawing large numbers of future students to GPC.
Now the Enrollment Services and Student Financial Services Teams are focusing their work on final registration for not only new students but for our returning students. As of this morning, we have registered over 22,000 students, and are well on our way to our target goal of 25,000 students registered for this fall semester.
I wanted to share with you just a few of the accomplishments of our teams:
• Admissions staff members have admitted 1,726 students since Aug 10. They admitted 671 students yesterday alone!
• Yesterday, August 13, Admissions posted over 300 college transcripts and many applicants’ admission files were completed with that one action.
• On August 12, Enrollment Services staff members assisted 1,600 students in registering for fall semester classes.
• On July 30, over 168 future students and their families attended Open House/ Document Day at the Alpharetta Center, that number was up from 8 future students who attended last year – nice job Recruitment!
• Financial Aid staff assisted over 3,200 students over the past two days – August 12 and 13.
• To date, the Financial Aid Office has received over 45,570 unduplicated FAFSAs compared to 23,586 at this time last year.
• Financial Aid staff members have completed verifications on 7,702 students to date.
Enrollment Services and Student Financial Services could not have done this incredible work without the technical assistance of our Office of Information Technology team and our Office of Institutional Research and Planning team. These major events could not have gone smoothly without the ever present assistance of Public Safety and Plant Operations. Our campuses are safe and our buildings and grounds are well maintained. Student Life, Academic and Student Deans, the Office of Customer Service, Library staff, Department Chairs, many faculty and staff volunteers also assisted with these events. A special thanks goes to the Nursing Department and our second year nursing students for administering immunizations to our new students at each Open House/Document Day.
This list could go on and on and I apologize if I didn’t mention every person individually who assisted. That is why I wanted to take the opportunity to personally thank the entire College community for pulling together to accomplish great things in preparation for the start of the fall semester next week. The events of this summer exemplify what teamwork is all about!
Great job to all of you!!
I'll see you soon.
