JCLRC 1st Floor Entry

Access through the JCLRC first floor doors (where Technical Services is located) will now be limited. You will need to swipe your access card to exit. Only authorized cards will have accessibility. A little green light and “friendly beep” indicates that you are authorized to enter/exit.

Manual Charge Form

The yellow manual charge form is being replaced by a new form that Donna is recreating. Refer to this new form when the system is down or when a registered patron is not in the system and wants to check out materials. You can find the form under "Useful Sites" on the right hand menu. Please review the Circulation policy on charging out materials to patrons not in the system.

Geology Rock Collection (Reserves)

Please note that many some of the Geology Lab Reserves items (i.e. rock and fossil collections) will be temporarily unavailable until Thursday Friday. I am working with Geology faculty to identify and organize the collection. We will also be removing some of the older lab materials which are not getting much use.

Some of the collection may be available by tomorrow, so please check the Reserves shelf if students ask for Geology lab materials.

GPC Student Banned from Campus

A public safety alert has been issued:

GPC student, Joseph Rodriquez, was arrested for making Terroristic Threats against GPC faculty. He has been released from jail on bond and is under court order not to appear on any GPC campus. If you see him on campus, please alert Public Safety at 770-247-5500 immediately.

Public Safety Alerts

The campus Public Safety office will periodically send out alerts to the GPC community regarding individuals who have been banned from GPC campuses.

Any public safety alerts (with pictures when available) will be posted in the Circulation office. Please take a moment to check the felt board for any information regarding safety issues on campus.

As always, please speak with the security officer posted outside the library exit, or contact Public Safety at ext. 5511 if you see any suspicious individuals or activity in the library.

Laptop checkout

Just a couple of quick reminders about laptop checkout.

When checking them out, please checkout the computer, power cord and carrying case together. Also, in an effort to keep them safe and sound, keep one of the keys with you at all times (i.e. not both keys in the cabinet).

Statistics 2008

Most of the circulation statistics for summer and fall of 2008 have been evaluated and are now posted. Even with the GE upgrade and suspension, there has been an increase in requests and processing since 2007. Thank you for your excellent work!

Address Verification

W-2's are being processed and mailed out before January 31st. Please verify that your Personal Information on At Your Service is accurate.

Reminder about GIL Express patrons

Although a current school ID is preferred, keep in mind that a GE patron (who is currently registered and in good standing for the semester) can check out GPC materials using a current government issued ID (i.e. Driver's License, Military ID, etc...).

New Laptops!

Hello everyone,

We are now circulating our ten new wireless laptops. They are locked up inside the metal cabinet in the reserves room. Please do everything thing you can to ensure that they stay secure. They are brand-new machines and we don't want to lose any of them!

Also, reiterate to patrons that it is their responsibility to return the machines (including power supply and laptop bag) on time and in the same condition.
