Vending Machines

Please note the message from the Eva:

Due to the remodeling of B building and needing a place to house some vending machines, College Services has decided to place two vending machines (one for sodas, one for snacks) in JCLRC in the alcove area behind the rotunda. They will also be replacing the pay phones. I'm hopeful the placement of these machines will not be too obtrusive and cause too much trash in the rest of the building. They should be in place by the end of the week.

New Books

New books have been processed and are placed on the Circulation workroom shelves. Please feel free to browse through them before they are presented to the public. If you would like to keep it for a closer look, don't forget to charge the book to your account. This helps with Callslips when patrons are requesting materials. Keep in mind that only books that have been processed and are on the shelf labeled "New Books for Review" can be checked out.

Reminder notifications are emailed whenever we receive new books. If you haven't been receiving them and would like to know when new books arrive, please let me know.

Books on 4th floor

The leaky ceiling tiles have been replaced on the 4th floor, and the (P and N) books that were in the aisle have been moved back into place.

Please note that there are some gaps on the shelves in the PA and PG sections for the replacement books as they come back in. We will be adding some signage to let patrons know about the temporarily missing sections.

Please take some extra time to shelf-read and neaten up these areas during your walk thru.

Power Cut Off

GA POWER WILL CUT THE POWER OFF TO THE JCLRC TODAY, FEBRUARY 6TH AT 5:00. IT SHOULD BE DOWN FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS AS THEY TIE THE RENOVATIONS INTO THE EXISTING TRANSFORMER. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY CAUSE.

Discharging Items

Please remember to discharge all items once patrons have returned book(s) to the Circulation desk. Unfortunately several Reserve books as well as Circulating books have been found still attached to patron's account. This action results in the patron incurring an Overdue and Lost Replacement fee which can absolutely be avoided. So please, let us all be mindful of discharging item(s) once returned.

I would like to thank all of the Circulation staff in advance for their cooperation as we work together to better serve our students.

Temporary shelving on 4th floor

As many of you already know, there was a water leak earlier today which damaged a number of books in the call number range "N" thru "P".

Those books that were in that area, and were not water damaged, have also been removed from the shelves temporarily and are located on carts.

These call number ranges are: "ND" "NX" "P" "PA" and "PG".

We will be shelf-reading this section over the next few days, so please keep that in mind as you search for GIL Express and other patron requests from those call number ranges.
