Dealing with complaints about noisy or disruptive patrons

Many of us are asked at times to confront patrons who are acting in a disruptive manner or being too noisy. In these cases, it is tempting to just walk up to the students who are causing the trouble and ask them to be quiet.

However, the best way to handle these problems is to contact the security personnel on duty located at the desk just outside the exit. Also, make sure and let the patron making the complaint know that we take noise issues on the 3rd and 4th floor seriously and have contacted security to take care of the problem.
